Highest Frequency – Listening Party

New project from our friends over at Saving Grace Music this project sees local and international musicians collaborating in an exciting way.

First off is the release: spanning genres, BPMs and the globe. A heady mix of electronic and organic beats that refuses to be pigeon-holed and in fact glories in the collaborative mix of musicians featured, sit back and prepare for a journey through the electronic beatscape…

Secondly, the so dubbed ‘Listening Party’ which will see musicians from the project performing live in an intimate venue in Huddersfield, all skilled musicians and avid technicians of their craft, surely not to be missed.

Lots of information below on both the release and the event, Check it…

Here’s something from Brooklyn based artist Labba…

LABBA – MOLLY CYRUS INSTAGRAM (PROD. GIT BEATS)

I don’t really understand it (probably too old), but it is definitely a slice of griminess for the social media generation. (On another note, I am pretty astounded by her Instagram photo featured… pretty much pornographic! …I think I just confirmed I’m getting too old.)

Miley Cyrus Instagram is the first single from the new “Labba Ranks” album which is forthcoming. Produced by Git (also known as Git Beats) you can stay up to date by following them on twitter @Labba & @GitBeats. Follow Git Beats via Soundcloud.

Ty – Like You Never

Here’s a brand new banger from UK Hip-Hop legend TY, an extremely talented independent artist who has been putting in work on the scene for a long time!

Untitled-2-01

Without wanting to call this conscious Hip-Hop, but yeh, this is real talk not this Pop-Hop, watered down rubbish prevalent now; just like the song says…  ‘I hear anger in music, but the message is hollow’

Turn this up, it’s a real beat…

Evan Black – For The Birds

b6aad061-786c-4834-b21b-d33d5dc96440

Some real nice music for you this morning from Boston native Evan Black, his second release after  “The Arrival” which featured the likes of Emilio Rojas, Skyzoo and Reks, boasting a definite Boston feel to this, ‘For The Birds’ is a personal and heartfelt journey through relationships, drinking, daily life and Hip-Hop. His vocals the only featured on the release, flow in harmony with the excellent production by Portland-born recording artist and beatsmith Customary. The release features 12 original new tracks produced by Customary including the singles “Go Round,” “Stay Young” and “Cheap Date.”

Chris B. Murray provides the totally awesome original album artwork.

Okay so we can’t embed the songs, but you can listen/download etc here.

Purchase via iTunes here.

Napoleon LV – Take it Away

takeitAway

Straight out of North Carolina, Napoleon LV may be relatively new to the scene (starting in 2009), but he is already making an impact – having worked with “Little Brother”, Curren$y, Hot Spitta/ Wiz Khalifa and having worked on videos for 2chainz, Asap Rocky, CamRon & Red Cafe.

‘Take it Away’ is his latest release from the EP “Superb”, produced by Russian Natives ∆PƩXProduction.

If I had to say, I would say it is reminiscent of someone like Fashawn to me but with a much more cinematic feel, to the music especially, this is some chilled-out, slightly dark, anthem kind of vibe. Check out some of his other work too, an interesting sound which seems quite removed from lots of other current Hip-Hop. It’s set to be an interesting release! You can find out more about Napoleon IV via his Twitter here.
