Currently killing stages all over, Children of Zeus (Konny Kon & Tyler Daley) are a neo-soul group hailing from Manchester. Here is a small sample of their work, but you REALLY need to go see them live…
Rock you internally
“You just got to check it…” – Jazzie B (of SoulIISoul)
“This is my jam. You need this shit in your life…” – Lenzman
Push Push On
“The light skin, Street, UK Maxwell… I like it” – Dres (of BlackSheep)
Konny Kon – All vinyl Soul Food Selection
With audiences and listeners loving the tracks and live shows (picture the whole audience singing along), and now legitimate soul LEGENDS, and renowned musicians coming out saying this is some of their favorite contemporary music – Big things are just around the corner we are sure…
Check them out further on their Soundcloud and via Facebook.

Our long time friend and associate Jack Flash (former EOW world champ, etc etc) was recently asked by TED to host a talk. You will probably be aware of the wide ranging, educational and entertaining talks hosted around the world by TED (find out more here).
Here Flash chose to base his talk on his lyrics and how the audience and himself relate, using the format of reading and then dissecting each lyric in turn. An intriguing idea that I have seen few similar examples of, but really like the format.
The main basis is seemingly how he has matured as an artist, how he learnt to overcome his fears and really begin to create much more personal lyrics without the facile, cliche content much of the genre is defined by…. and as he mentions within, this is not a slight on others’ content – but more a recognition of his true voice coming through finally, after years of honing his skills. It’s great to see and much respect to him…
Take some time and elevate your mind a little….

Due to the devastation in Nepal I am selling my remaining ‘3 Whys Men’ prints at a reduced £10 – with ALL profits going to charity.
I made the original image whilst in Kathmandu, and I can say that the Nepali people are the most welcoming, friendly and generous people I have ever met, even though they are some of the poorest.
Instead of just donating a tenner, add the postage costs and get an original signed limited edition print by me.
Larger donations are of course welcome. Please share.
We at Dirt Cheap are mega proud to share images of Peter O’Toole‘s (Dirt Cheap Co-creator) collaboration with famed Adidas collector Quote to create an illustrated book documenting his enviable collection, for adidas Originals‘ Consortium line.
The project also saw them work together on their very own trainer to accompany the books release, which was designed by the pair on a trip to adidas’s Herzogenaurach HQ, the adidas Originals Consortium ZX 420 ‘Quotoole’ will be released on 15th November.
Damn they’re fresh right?!
Credit also goes to Adam Gill and Grammar Studio for layout/graphic design of the book.
Both the shoe and the book will be available through Global consortium accounts plus another five accounts in Germany from the 15th November 2014.
New project from our friends over at Saving Grace Music this project sees local and international musicians collaborating in an exciting way.
First off is the release: spanning genres, BPMs and the globe. A heady mix of electronic and organic beats that refuses to be pigeon-holed and in fact glories in the collaborative mix of musicians featured, sit back and prepare for a journey through the electronic beatscape…
Secondly, the so dubbed ‘Listening Party’ which will see musicians from the project performing live in an intimate venue in Huddersfield, all skilled musicians and avid technicians of their craft, surely not to be missed.
Lots of information below on both the release and the event, Check it…

Be quick, Very limited numbers!
The famed designer has died aged 82, after a long battle with cancer. Having dressed Michelle Obama, and former first ladies Jackie Kennedy, Laura Bush and Hilary Clinton to more recently designing the dress Amal Clooney wore down the aisle, his work has been coveted by the A-List crowds since the early 60’s.
A stylistic force whose work spans decades and made a huge impact on both the catwalk and red carpets alike. He was born in the Dominican Republic, moving to Spain to study painting before working in fashion houses in Paris, later forming his own brand which catapulted him to success.
“Now is the most exciting time in fashion. We live in an era of globalization and the era of the woman. Never in the history of the world have women been more in control of their destiny.”

Totally in love with the work of Manchester Illustrator Kristian Duffy at the moment, can’t fault it. Great colour palette and some very cool compositions.
I particularly like this piece:
