Tilt

12
Here, graffiti artist Tilt has created his own room inside the Au Vieux Panier hotel in Marseille, France. One half of the room is covered in Tilt’s incredibly colourful work while the other in a beautiful contrast is simply left white. The hotel boasts 5 rooms where artists are invited to get creative in whatever way they feel possible.

David Choe is worth $200 million!

San Jose-based graffiti artist David Choe, who painted graffiti murals for Facebook’s headquarters in Palo Alto, California, is now worth $200 Million after the social networking giant went public on Wednesday.

In 2005, Choe who first thought of Facebook as “ridiculous and pointless” was approached by Mark Zuckerberg to paint graffiti on the walls of Facebook’s first office.

Choe was however, paid in shares instead of cash and those shares are now worth $200 million.

We Did This

Excellent opportunity to secure some funding for your arts project, this could give your project a real boost of publicity and crucially a cash injection! this is a self initiated thing so if it sounds like a project you could get your teeth into then read on!

New Deal of the Mind is curating a month of fundraising on WeDidThis the ground-breaking crowdfunding site for the Arts – from late September into October.

We believe that the UK’s innovative young artists should be supported by similarly innovative funding models, and that everyone, regardless of background, should have access to support in their creative careers.

Are you involved in an art project that is looking for funding?
Do you have a personal art project that you want to get off the ground?

We would love to hear from either individual practitioners or groups from across the arts who would like to pitch a project for crowdfunding. If you choose to pitch a project, this will very much be your fundraising campaign, but we want to bring a diverse creative group together to make the most of this opportunity for all involved.
WeDidThis have had some notable successes, and NDotM are excited to be involved in this funding revolution.
If you would like to put a project forward to be funded, please contact Hen Norton directly at projects@wedidthis.org.uk

We can’t wait to hear your ideas. This is a great opportunity to come together as a group, and attract funding for great art!

Dates to bear in mind:
The Funding period starts on 22nd September.
Video pitches must be submitted to WeDidThis by 15th September.
Any other questions? Email Hen Norton at projects@wedidthis.org.uk
