Ramellzee

Heard through the grapevine (unconfirmed) that the legend Ramellzee has passed away. Apparantly this news came from Fab 5 Freddy via Twitter so I would assume it is the truth. A sad day, Ramellzee was an eccentric pioneer in hip-hop and a player in the graffiti world being a member of such crews as CIA and The Master Bombers. He also was one of the few writers in the early days to be recognised by the art world, probably because of his association with the famed New York ‘street artist’ Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Rammlezee vs K-Rob-Beat Bop (Graffiti Hall Of Fame) – Some cool oldskool flicks!!

A real shame, a massive influence on so many rappers and most definitely the craziest dressed guy in Hip-hop for sure! Check out this interesting interview about his graffiti at 149st here.
