We have been given an EXCLUSIVE sneak peak at Huddersfield photographer, Benn Kafanke’s new series; Derelict.
This set came about when I was planning a project I have started called ‘mills’ which will be available to view later this year, I came across some old derelict houses and mills, I went for the monochrome looks because it adds a greater ammount of texture and emphasises the grim look of the whole image.
- What the artist says about the series.

The works focus on the grimey, gritty and grimness of abandoned spaces. The aim being to represent beauty is not as simple a concept as first imagined. The phrase ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ rings true and seems to have been an important theme, for these photos especially. The images certainly are beautiful, distilling beauty from an unusual space is always a great mission for any artist!
The series is available as a limited run of the highest quality 18 x 12 prints, price available on request.
