PaperPlane Album Launch

Fancy supporting some amazing local talent? PaperPlane are based in the Halifax and Todmorden area and I can safely say they are incredible live, with their loyal following attending almost every gig, welcoming new fans along the way. The trio, made up of Jack Bennett (Vocals and guitar), Kristian Arak (Bass) and Kristan Read (Drums) are finally bringing out their debut album, and will be holding an album launch at The Victoria Theatre in Halifax on the 30th July. Tickets are only £6 and there’s even an after party! The band’s awesome album artwork is created by local artist Jono Bishop. Faith SFX feat. Wretch 32 – Play Hard

You may have heard of up-and-coming artist Wretch 32 by his popular single ‘Traktor’, so I kinda knew what to expect with this single. The real beauty of this however, is that the whole sound you hear is created by voice- Faith SFX, another name I am familiar with, as I was lucky enough to see this guy perform live on stage at BCM in Magaluf. (Yes… I went there last year… Cringe) Now he has some real talent, and was incredible to watch. Turns out he is bringing out an album, ‘Man Or Machine’. The noises he can make are amazing, and I fell in love as he beat boxed his way through ‘Eastern Jam’ by Chase and Status that sunny September surrounded by drunk, vomiting holidaymakers. So I was very happy to review this single which he has produced.

Wretch 32 adds some great vocals too, let’s not forget about him. With his great success with ‘Traktor’ I’m sure there are some great things in the pipeline for him. But Faith SFX is the one to look out for ladies and gents, and if you have a chance to see him live, please do so… He sounds even better in the flesh!

“I named this project “The Sound Of Colours” because in a nutshell I see an overwhelming colour somewhere in my mind whenever I hear any music. So if that is the colour of sound, then this is the Sound Of Colours. This is my latest material and is a precursor to a new album I am working on now. These tracks are some of my favourite I’ve ever made. I try to supply a cross section of mood and feeling when I put together a project as well as open up content so the songs aren’t all about the same subject and I have covered that here. I kept the bulk of the project free so anyone and everyone can share this.
